Bittersweet.

"Bittersweet: pleasure alloyed with pain." - Merriam Webster Online ;)

Three days after the most historic election in history, this is what I'm left with. As I sipped my champagne (and downed my vodka), I was brought to tears watching Barack Obama on Tuesday night. History had been made and we were a part of it.
I know of no politician in US history that has inspired millions of ordinary people to get involved, to fight for what they believe in. No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, you cannot underestimate the power of "CHANGE" and "HOPE." After 8 years of fear politics, it's now time for a new beginning. I am a liberal...and proud!

After such a victory on the national level, I could only take that HOPE and wait for California to bring back a no vote on Proposition 8. But unfortunately, that no vote never came. Who would've known that on November 5th, it would be a good day for the chickens of California (Prop 2) but not the gays. The YES campaign won. The Bush politics of fear had won. The religious right had won.

They may have won this battle but we will prevail. We won't back down. We will put an end to this bigotry. We will take that same HOPE that inspired millions and inject it in to our fight for equality. I truly believe that one day my love will be recognized. That one day I will be entitled to those same rights my straight friends may sometimes take for granted.

I will fight. We will fight. And in time we will overcome.

Boo for Prop H8!

I'm still in shock.

I've been watching CNN, on Anderson Cooper 360, or maybe it was Larry King Live, I heard that The Governator said the supreme court can overrule that decision and he is urging them to do just that.

We'll see...
